Sophia Taylor (she/her/hers)

Intern Therapist

LGBTQIA+, Religious Trauma, Life Transitions, Anxiety, Depression, Relationship Issues, Identity Exploration

Hello! My name is Sophia, and I believe that mental and emotional well-being is a right. My role as your therapist would be to witness your life, provide support where you need it, guide you to insights for positive change, and join you in discovering your truest self.

Healing happens in relationships. In this case, that relationship is the therapeutic alliance that we build together. From the start, I will work to foster an environment of warmth, non-judgment, curiosity, and stability.

My therapeutic orientation is broadly Psychodynamic. Based on the theory that unconscious mental material influences our everyday thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. As a team, we will learn how your mind works, uncover those unconscious processes, and use that understanding to improve and enrich your day to day.

My approach also incorporates Systems Theory; recognizing, honoring, and engaging not only you, as an individual, but the family, cultural, and societal systems that contribute to your experience.

I am currently working toward my Master’s in Counseling Psychology. When I am not writing papers or working, I love to spend time with my partner, gardening, cooking, walking our blind dog, or doing anything on or near the water.
