Welcome!
I am Karen Malsom, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington state and I am thrilled to be a part of your journey of self-discovery and healing. I aim to create a collaborative safe harbor where you are seen, heard, and valued. I firmly believe that you know your own life better than anyone and that together we can identify areas of growth. We’ll work collaboratively to unearth your strengths and resilience, helping you achieve a more balanced and fulfilling life.

I work from an eclectic perspective by utilizing tenets from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectal behavioral therapy, trauma-informed therapy, and therapeutic art in order to facilitate this journey of self-discovery and healing alongside you. I also offer Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) which combines therapeutic eye movements with somatic processing in order to decrease the impact of negative images and symptoms. For info on Accelerated Resolution Therapy: Click Here. I received my BA from Seattle Pacific University in 2013 and my Master’s degree in Counseling from Grand Canyon University in 2019.

I have previously worked in childcare, served as an ABA provider, and worked in community mental health. This work paired with my education, both professional and personal, allowed me to grow my perspective for interventions and client-directed care, particularly when addressing neurodivergence. I am open to working with individuals from childhood to adulthood.

When I am not working with clients I can be found spending time with family, creating art, and enjoying stories of all kinds through movies, books, and tv.
