Theresa Trahan (She/Her/Hers)

Intern Therapist

18+, Anxiety, Depression, Stress, Self-esteem, Grief, Emotion Regulation, Communication, Life Transitions, Women’s Issues, LGBTQ+

My name is Theresa, and I am an intern therapist working toward my Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Walden University.

I am passionate about creating a warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, supported, and encouraged to explore your experiences with curiosity and authenticity. My goal is to create a setting where you feel comfortable being yourself and safe enough to talk openly and explore whatever you are going through.

My therapeutic approach is grounded in Person-Centered, Humanistic, and Rogerian therapy, which means I believe you are the expert in your own experience. I will work collaboratively with you to develop self-awareness and curiosity that leads to a deeper understanding of your emotions, patterns, and personal stories. I also integrate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy to provide practical coping skills for improving communication, strengthening emotional regulation, and reframing unhelpful thought patterns or beliefs.

I enjoy working with young adults and adults navigating anxiety, self-esteem challenges, relationship concerns, and life transitions. I am especially passionate about supporting clients through periods of change, uncertainty, and self-discovery while helping them build resilience and a stronger sense of self.

I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a Minor in Social Work from Seattle University. I also attended Whatcom Community College, where I earned my Licensed Massage Therapy licence. Outside of counseling work and graduate school, I enjoy exploring, traveling, cooking, reading, and hanging out with my boys and two kitties.
