Julia Iversen (She/Her), MA, LMHCA

Therapist

Ages 13+, Anxiety, Depression, Grief + Loss, Perfectionism, Life Transitions, Disordered Eating, Religious/Spiritual Trauma

My approach to therapy starts with a posture of care that is primarily rooted in relational psychotherapy. Once safety is established, the therapeutic space we share is hopefully a place where we can explore the parts of your story that impact – often outside of one’s awareness – the way you see yourself and the world around you. By tending to your inner world, we can begin the process of moving toward not only symptom relief, but creating new patterns of relating that allow you to more flexibly and resiliently embrace the joys and pains of your life. I am here to collaborate with you in your healing process by noticing, supporting, and reflecting back to you what comes up in the space between us. I will allow myself to be impacted by the fullness of your unique identities and what you bring to our work together, acknowledging that you are the expert of your story and hold agency in your healing. It is an honor to bear witness to your story.

My framework for healing is trauma-informed and guided by techniques such as embodiment work, mindfulness, and attachment theory. I also work from a liberation and feminist perspective with an awareness that our inner conflicts are located in the context of the oppressive systems we must navigate.
I earned my masters degree in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology & Psychology, and completed my internship working with eating disorders in an outpatient treatment setting.

Outside of therapy, I love spending time with my partner, family & friends, playing music and seeing live music, farming, and finding new ways to invite more play into my life!
