Intern Therapist
Ages 16+ Grief & Loss, Relationships, Life Transitions, Parenting, Spirituality, Identity Exploration, Healthy Aging, Posttraumatic Growth, Navigating Young Adulthood
Thank you for being here. It takes courage to reach out for support! Life can be messy, and it is a natural response to avoid pain or confusion. But as the poet Rumi encouraged: “Don’t turn away. Keep your gaze on the bandaged place. That’s where the light enters you.”
I support clients with curiosity and caring, presence, deep listening, and unconditional acceptance as they look at and heal their bandaged places, letting light in to create more authentic and fulfilling lives. Clients who feel ready to engage in the work of deeper healing at the root of their problems and patterns will feel well-supported by my approach.
I believe we learn best through processes that engage us experientially, not just talking about healing and transformation, but feeling it. My work is informed by attachment theory and mindfulness, and includes the transformational modalities Emotion-Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). These approaches help free up what is already within you: awareness, acceptance, compassion, curiosity, vitality, and rich meaning.
I am grateful to be an intern therapist after a 35-year career supporting girls and women ages 7-97 in deepening their connection with themselves, others, and the natural world. I find wonder in free-spirited explorations in wild nature, feel joy in dancing, create rich connections with a global community, experience balance from yoga, meditation, and writing poetry, and gain perspective through cross-cultural immersion in non-Western cultures.
