Therapeutic Approach:
Nicole is a licensed mental health counselor associate in Washington state. She uses a collaborative approach working alongside clients and families, listening, and assisting them in meeting their goals and supporting self-advocacy to empower growth. Nicole also has a background in nutrition and movement training which informs her multimodal, holistic approach to counseling. She believes in a mind-body connection to improve lifestyle habits. Her diverse background has enabled her to see the bigger picture and work holistically with clients to respond to life’s challenges with greater resiliency.
Education:
Nicole received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Clinical Psychology from Ithaca College in 1995. She then began gaining experience in counseling and clinical program development while working in residential treatment centers in Alaska, working with children and teens with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse diagnoses. She now holds a Master of Arts degree in Rehabilitation Counseling at WWU. Before joining the Accent Team, she worked as a therapist at a community mental health agency. Nicole has several years of experience working with underserved populations of children, adolescents, and families with varying backgrounds (multicultural, LGBTQ, various diagnoses, and histories of trauma).

Nicole loves music and the outdoors and enjoys the healing qualities of the arts and nature.
