Hello, I welcome your interest in participating in therapy with me! I am a white, non-binary queer person who recently moved to Washington from New Orleans, Louisiana. I’m passionate about connecting with others around matters of the heart. Together we will make space for you to listen to and learn from your emotions, and to connect with your body to support your growth and healing. We will also tap into your unique strengths, relationships, cultural identities, positive emotions, goals and values to face the challenges that bring you to counseling. Mindfulness, creative expressive activities, movement and play, and a connection to nature can also be integrated into our sessions as we work towards your therapy goals.
For those looking to heal from trauma and improve their mental health without an emphasis on talking, I offer Brainspotting. This clinically-proven approach engages your senses in order to better access, process, and transform painful life experiences. I can support you to gently focus your eyes, hearing, and felt-sense of your body to engage deep parts of your brain so that healing can safely occur without requiring that you speak about and analyze your experience. You can learn more about this powerful tool at brainspotting.com.
My clients have shared that in our work together they appreciate being seen for who they are, supported to go deeper into their experience, and compassionately challenged so as to interrupt unwanted patterns. I work well with those who experience marginalization, including adults of all ages who are trans, queer and gay, disabled, neurodivergent, adoptees and those impacted by the foster system, and/or artists, activists, and non-conformists. If you’re curious about beginning counseling with me, please scroll down to schedule a consult.
