Kari Humphreys, Intern
Teens, Young Adults, Adults, Women, LGBTQ+, depression, anxiety, life challenges and transitions, trauma, family & relationship concerns
Kari was born and raised in the PNW and has called Bellingham home for 14 years. Her practice is rooted in the belief that connection cultivates healing – connection to self, others, and community; and that therapy can be an avenue toward developing deeper connection in one’s life. Kari supports clients in making meaning of their experiences through the telling of their life stories. She believes that making meaning of experiences offers insight and liberation of parts of ourselves and can help us to live more dynamic and authentic lives. Kari offers a safe and welcoming space to process, discover, and feel seen and heard.
Kari is currently working toward a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling at Western Washington University. In her previous work, she created recreation programs for adult women and LGBTQ+, planned large fundraisers for nonprofit organizations, led youth recreation programs, and helped people with disabilities secure employment. She is passionate about social justice, women’s issues, and holistic wellbeing. When not working with clients or attending classes, you can find her out on the trails with her dogs and a bike or Nordic skis, working in her garden, or planning her next travel adventure.
