Counseling Approach: I believe in empowering my clients to take an active role in their treatment and fostering a collaborative, nonjudgmental environment that encourages self-expression and growth. I deeply value having an authentic working relationship with my clients by practicing respect, empathy, and honesty.
I strive to consider as many diverse perspectives as possible and welcome frequent feedback. I practice cultural humility with people from diverse backgrounds, experiences, age groups, values, and view clients as the experts in their own lives.
Therapeutic Modalities: I have an integrative style, pulling from various types of therapy. However, I believe that therapy should be tailored to the client with the client’s informed input. This can mean using only one or several types of therapy, depending on what we both feel is best for you. Modalities that I primarily use include Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Feedback-Informed Treatment, Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, and Solutions-Focused.
Education: I hold a MA in Social Work from Ohio State University and a BS in Psychology from Brigham Young University-Idaho.
Hobbies/Lifestyle: I spend most of my time outdoors with my awesome partner and dog, often going on bike rides and walks. I also love long-distance running, kayaking, snowboarding, any form of art, and have a background in classical music.
