Jennifer North, MS, LMHC, NCC

Therapist

Depression, Anxiety, Life transitions, Self-Compassion, Mindfulness and Personal Growth.

Jennifer believes that destiny is not something that happens by chance, but is something that happens by choice. And although we can’t control everything, we can control the choices we make. Jennifer enjoys working with people to help them understand the choices they make, learn to make better choices, and learn how to better manage the things that can’t be changed. Jennifer uses a variety of therapeutic styles beginning with meeting you where you are and understanding where you want to go. She also uses aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), mindfulness and ecotherapy.

Jennifer earned her first Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Interpretation from Prescott College and worked for many years as a naturalist in state parks, national parks, and as a kayak guide in the San Juan Islands. She then went on to get a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at Ashford University and her Masters Degree in Counseling from Lewis and Clark College in Portland Oregon. Jennifer is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Washington. She worked for 5 years with adults in community mental health in rural Oregon before returning to Washington. When not working, Jennifer enjoys reading, gardening, and exploring the forests and waters of the area, usually with a pair of binoculars.
