“Life is alchemy, and emotions are the fire that turns me to gold. I will continue to become only if I resist extinguishing myself a million times a day. If I can sit in the fire of my own feelings, I will keep becoming.” -Glennon Doyle, ‘Untamed’.
Welcome! My name is Hannah, and I believe that every individual deserves to be heard, affirmed, and supported as they work to build up skills to address the issues they are facing daily in their lives. Thank you for taking a minute to read my bio to see if I might be a good fit to come alongside you on your journey.
I originally came to Bellingham to attend Western for my undergraduate degree over ten years ago, and I loved the city so much, I never left. For the last six years, I have been a high school special education teacher and am now excited to transition into counseling. I especially enjoy working with adolescents (13+) and young adults, and as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I strive to provide a safe and welcoming space to those within this community and those exploring their sexual or gender identities. I use a person-centered, trauma informed, multimodal approach to ensure each client is supported while identifying and working towards their goals. Along with this, I also believe it is important to identify and understand the interconnectivity of cultural, historical, and social impacts and experiences within one’s life.
I recently graduated and am now a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate. I enjoy paddle boarding with my dog, finding new hikes in the area, reading, and listening to podcasts.
