Greetings! I am looking forward to talking with you and am grateful to be a person who can help you navigate your life. As a counselor who is committed to social justice, I work hard to create a space open for the discussion of all identities, including targeted identities – such as but not limited to – race, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, sexual practices, ability, size, citizenship, religion, and age. I am also a person in long-term recovery and have experience counseling individuals living with co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders. I encourage all who are affected by addiction to talk with me about your experiences.
I hold an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwest University and previously earned a BS in Exercise Science and Wellness from Bastyr University. I also bring with me over 20 years of experience working as a recreation professional for various cities, community centers, schools, and nonprofit organizations. I have pursued a career path focused on helping others achieve healthy lifestyles. As such, my approach to counseling has been shaped through a holistic lens. I work in collaboration with individuals to identify and address their emotional, psychological, spiritual, and physical needs. My primary approaches are Cognitive-Behavioral, Solution Focused, and Strengths Based Therapies. Other skills and modalities that I often include use trauma informed, person centered and systems based approaches, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing.
In my personal and professional life I rely on humor, laughter, playfulness, and fun to give myself and others strength. Outside of the counseling office you’ll find me riding my bike, spending time outdoors, giving dogs pets and cuddles, playing board and card games, cooking, and eating pizza.
If you would like to schedule a consultation, please send me an email. I’ll be happy to let you know my soonest available appointments.
